Leadership
Each of us can serve as a leader. And one leader creates another and another, ad infinitum, just as one candle’s flame lights another and another, until the once-impenetrable darkness has turned to brilliant light.

Rebecca Lipson President
|
Hi, my name is Rebecca Lipson double majoring in Political Science and History. When I am not studying in the library, Starbucks, or Chabad I just like to hang out with my friends watching TV, movies, and of course the NY Yankees.
Chabad is truly a remarkable place. It is my home away from home. I feel such a strong connection to this place that it only seems natural to want to be involved in making it feel like home for everyone.
The Jewish community here at Binghamton is one of a kind. Everyone is welcome no matter there background and I hope that our community will continue to grow. If you interested in any way of being more involved here at Chabad don't hesitate! I promise you will not regret having the Slonim family a part of your life.

Ariella Fineman
Vice President |
My name is Ariella Fineman and I am a sophomore here at Binghamton, majoring in Human Development. I am one of the many few out-of-state students from a small town outside of Boston called Sharon. During my free time, I like to read, run, snowboard, do yoga, hang out with my friends and spend time with my friends in Alpha Phi!
There are so many things I love about Chabad, but I feel that there is one thing that makes it extra special. Right when I enter the doors for Shabbat or any special event, I, along with so many other students, feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere from all the people that greet me with a smile.
No matter who you are, I believe that you can feel comfortable at Chabad. I would love to see more people from all denominations of Judaism come to Chabad’s events, especially more people in Greek life. I promise, once you come a few times, consistently, you’ll be hooked! |

Dayna Driscoll
Dir. of Engagement
|
My name is Dayna Driscoll and I’m a Sophomore at Binghamton majoring in Linguistics and Political Science with a minor in Theatre. I’m from Brooklyn and in my free time I enjoy going to the city, spending time with friends, reading, shopping & cooking.
One of the main reasons I chose to come to Chabad was my desire to connect with other Jewish students and get involved in something that would add to my college experience. I started Binghamton in the Spring of my Freshman year & immediately after joining Chabad the feeling of being the new girl diminished. Not only did I make amazing friends, but I found a second home at the Chabad house.
Whether going to Chabad on Shabbat and holidays, for special events, or just to volunteer time, what I enjoy most is the overwhelming sense of purpose and love that I feel as a result.
Chabad has many opportunities to offer students & everyone is always welcome. At Chabad the doors are always open and I sincerely hope that
as time goes on I will see even more Binghamton students join this already growing family. |

Howard Levi
Treasurer
|
My name is Howard Levi. I am a junior at Binghamton University. My major is Industrial and Systems Engineering. I was born and raised in Wayside, NJ. In my free time I enjoy surfing, skiing, paintballing, playing soccer, and hanging out with my friends.
My favorite thing about Chabad is the greetings I get every time I walk through the door.
Rivkah makes it her job to remember every person who walks through the doors. Rabbi Slonim and Rabbi Levi make sure to say hello to every student every Friday night. The great people and programs at Chabad have kept me spending two or three nights a week at the Chabad house.
My advice to students is to come check out Chabad and see what it is all about. There is
something here for everyone. No one would ever believe how many students I hear say that they
never thought they would be spending as much time as they are at Chabad.

Rebecca Bandler
Secretary
|
My name is Rebecca Bandler, and I'm a sophomore majoring in both psychology and nursing. I was born in NYC but have lived in NJ for my entire life. Right now I live in Morganville, NJ. In my free time I like to do EMS work, read books, bake, watch movies, hang out with friends, and shop.
There are so many reasons why I love Chabad. It's really tough to sufficiently express how much it means to me in only a few sentences. In just one short semester, Chabad became such an integral part of my life. Chabad does so much for the students, that I jumped at the opportunity to help. I've met most of my friends at Binghamton during Chabad events. Without fail, every time I walk in to Chabad the warm atmosphere and cheerful greetings make me feel like I am at home. The thing I enjoy most about Chabad is the Friday night Shabbat dinner--I look forward to them every week! Chabad Shabbat dinners are always relaxing, and provide the perfect respite from the crazy, hectic days of studying. You get to meet new people, and catch up with friends--not to mention the delicious food.
I love seeing the Jewish community at Binghamton University, and how it prospers through the semesters. Just seeing the annual pictures hanging in the basement of the Chabad building demonstrating how the Jewish population at Binghamton exponentially grows is an inspiration. What I love the most, however, is how everybody is welcomed no matter what religious affiliation. The diverse Jewish community at Binghamton is one of a kind, where everybody feels like they belong.
I can't even envision a life at Binghamton without Chabad. I urge everybody on campus, whether you are an incoming Freshman/Transfer or have been attending Binghamton for many semesters already, to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that Chabad of Binghamton has to offer. It's never too late to become part of the Chabad family. The doors are always open, and a home-away-from-home beckons!

Shoshana Koslowe Major Programming
|
My name is Shoshana Koslowe. I am a junior Psychology major, and I hope to be able to go into early childhood education once I graduate. I live in East Brunswick, NJ and have lived there my entire life. In my free time I enjoy catching up on my TV shows, relaxing, and I love hanging out with my friends.
It is hard to describe how much Chabad means to me and how the people there have effected my life. Simply put, there is no other place like it. It is almost impossible to walk into Chabad without receiving a friendly hello or smile. One of my favorite events is the weekly Shabbat Friday night dinner. It is where I met some of my closest friends. Even on my first Friday night I was welcomed with a warm and homey feeling that I still feel every time, even though I am already a junior. My friends at Chabad have become like a family to me and I am so grateful for everything the people there have done for me. It has truly become my home away from home.
I would love for students to experience what I have at Chabad, which is why I try to become more personally involved with everything Chabad has to offer. The Chabad house is always open no matter what time of the day, who you are, or where you're from. I really hope that our Chabad family keeps growing and that people become more involved in order to make it an even better place for the future. |

Ariel Yadai
Greek Liaison
|
My name is Ariel Yadaie and I'm a junior majoring in Human Development. I am from Long Island, in particular, Roslyn, New York. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, relaxing, and exercising.
What I enjoy most about Chabad is how it brings people together.I am involved with Chabad because I want more people to know about the amazing opportunities and experiences that Chabad has to offer. Chabad provides students with the opportunity to enhance their college experience that much more. Every time I walk into Chabad I am greeted with a smile, whether it is a stranger or a peer. At Chabad, everyone is welcome and made to feel like family. My job, as the Greek Liason, is to get Greek life more involved with Chabad and expand the Chabad family even more.
Although my focus is on Greek life in particular, my message to ALL students is that everyone should take advantage of all the great things Chabad offers because you can't find that anywhere else. I would like to see the Jewish student community at Binghamton University come together and grow.

Lucy Schwartz
Public Relations
|
My name is Lucy Schwartz, I am a sophomore with an undecided major. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends, reading, being outdoors, and being involved in BUZO.
Chabad is the most welcoming place on (or technically off) campus. Immediately when walking in, whether it is the first Thursday night for free pizza or a random Friday night in the middle of the semester, it is a warm place filled with people who either know your name or want to learn it. The students and the Slonims are like family and always have room for more!
I hope that more students have the desire to be involved in the Jewish community in Binghamton, whether it is planning events, joining the Chabad board, or just showing up to Shabbat services/meals and events. Don't forget to take advantage of all the amazing opportunities given at Chabad and remember that it is always a good time to get involved!
