Day 9: Salad Trail & Bedouin experience

Friday, 10 June, 2016 - 3:40 pm

This morning started with some sunshine on the beach! Then we headed to The Salad Trail. The trail is located in the desert on a moshav and is an agricultural community where everyone fends for themselves. There were tons of hot houses where they grow herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and strawberries. We got to pick them for ourselves and then got to enjoy lunch there. After that, we did an activity where we split into groups and had to each prepare a 4 course meal for selected judges. We made veggie salads, made our own pita, and even infused our own tea! It was so much fun and so cool to pick our own ingredients and use them in a dish. Then, we left and headed an hour and a half east to our hostel where we are staying for the night.  We showered, ate dinner and finished the night with a recap session of our trip so far and discussed our highs and lows in small groups. Then early to bed to get ready for our Masada hike tomorrow morning!!
