Jewish Bearcat of the Week
Featuring Jack Margolius

What is your major, and why did you decide to pursue this degree?
As of now, I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Why did you choose Binghamton University?
I went with Binghamton because it has a big and strong Jewish community and it is a state school that offered great value.

Where are you from?  Where did you go to high school?
I am from White Plains, NY, and attended Frisch.

What do you love about Jewish life on campus?
I love the emphasis everyone puts on the community aspect of Jewish life on campus. Everyone is looking to help one another succeed.

Do you have any siblings?
Yes, Francesca (17) and Daniel (15).

Do you have a hobby?  Why do you love it?
I love playing ice hockey and I have been playing since I was around three years old. I enjoy the speed and natural competitive nature of the game. I'm also a big NY Rangers fan.

What is your favorite Jewish food?
Yapchik

What is your favorite Jewish childhood memory?
Davening at the Kotel on Friday night for the first time.

What is your favorite Chabad experience?
I love the Friday night experience. The davening has a ton of ruach and is a great way to get into "Shabbos mode" after a busy week. The meals are a great way to spend time with your friends and meet other students.

What's your favorite lockdown experience?
I enjoyed going on early morning bike rides with my friends.

Rabbi Tzvi Freeman

True, we have faith that Moshiach will be here tomorrow, because he will come today in the very next moment. And if so, why build a house? Why plant a tree? Why teach a child?

But this is the journey that leads to the world to come. At every stop, we do all this place demands of us. At each encampment, we build our tabernacle anew—even if just for the moment.

For each moment is an entire world, as precious as eternity.
