Shabbat at Chabad

Join us for a special Shabbat with Dr. Binyomin Abrams Ph.D, award winning lecturer and Director of General Chemistry at Boston University. Dr. Abrams will speak on "Climate Change and Torah" following Shabbat dinner. Dr. Abrams will also be speaking at Shabbat lunch on The Methodology of Miracles

What do you love about Jewish life on campus?
I love the strong sense of community that Jewish life at Binghamton offers.

Do you have any siblings?
I have three siblings. Two brothers and one sister.

What is your favorite Jewish food?
My favorite Jewish food is latkes.

If you were a breakfast cereal, which one would you be and why?
If I was a breakfast cereal I’d be Cap’n Crunch because it’s my favorite cereal.

What is your favorite Jewish childhood memory?
My favorite Jewish childhood memory is going to the Purim carnival at my local synagogue.

What is your favorite Chabad experience?
My favorite Chabad experience is going to Shabbat dinners every weekend with my friends.

What's your favorite lockdown experience?
My favorite lockdown experience was spending time with my family.

The creation of the human being differed from the creation of other living species. Among other things, the human being was created as a single individual, unlike other living creatures created in pairs.

One of the reasons, our sages declare, is that it was G‑d’s design that humans everywhere and in all times should know that each and all descend from the one and the same single progenitor—a fully developed human being created in the image of G‑d—so that no human being could claim superior ancestral origin, and this would make it easier to cultivate a true sense of kinship in all interhuman relationships.
