What is your major, and why did you decide to pursue this degree?
I am majoring in psychology and I have a minor in speech and hearing sciences. I chose this degree because I am pursuing a career in speech pathology.

Why did you choose Binghamton University?
I transferred to Binghamton because I had heard amazing things about the Jewish community. I really wanted a school with great academics that would give me a “small school feeling” at a big institution.

Where are you from? Where did you go to high school?
I am from Sharon Massachusetts (a small town around 40 minutes outside of Boston) and I went to Maimonides.

What do you love about Jewish life on campus?
I love the sense of community. Wherever I go, I always see someone who I know. Chabad has allowed me to meet hundreds of new people.

Do you have any siblings?
I have three older siblings and a dog!

What is your favorite Jewish food?
Latkes with sour cream. (Not apple sauce)

What is your favorite food?
Mashed potatoes. They are underrated.

If you were a breakfast cereal, which one would you be and why?
I am an old lady at heart so I would have to say Cracklin Oat Bran.

What is your favorite Chabad experience?
Friday night dinners. I love walking around the room and talking to new people every week. I get so excited every weekend to sit with my friends and enjoy dinner with everyone.

What is your favorite Jewish childhood memory?
Decorating the sukkah with my siblings. In elementary school we would make paper chains, drawings, and other random decorations to hang up. I would insist that every single thing I made had to be hung up in our sukkah.

Every soul begins its journey as pure, lucid light. But once she enters this world, she may fall.

Even had the soul remained pure, the descent would still have been worthwhile. All the more so now that she has fallen.

True, she was meant to confine herself to the permissible; she would have enlightened that realm of the world, healed it and carried it upward.

But now that she has fallen, let her return to her true, inner self, and in doing so she will transform to light that which a pure soul would never have touched.
