Rivky's Hilchot Nidda Seminar on the laws of marital intimacy will once again be offered this semester. 

This six-week course beginning September 18th or 19th will have you thinking about sex, love, and marriage (and life) in a whole new way!
This course requires a commitment to attending all sessions (barring illness of course).

Let's say you have a choice: You can be blessed, receiving physical abundance and spiritual meaning in life. Or, you can be cursed, have none of those things, and face negative consequences. What would you choose?

In this week's Parsha Re’eh, Moshe addresses the Nation of Israel before they go into the promised land. He says “See, I place before you a blessing and a curse”. A choice is given here, decisions that will have major consequences. Whoever follows in G-d’s commandments, in His path, will be blessed. Whoever abandons these commandments will be cursed. 

Seems like we are forced to obey, we aren’t given much of a choice here. If you think like that, here is a different approach. Everything that we are commanded to do by G-d is for a higher purpose, whether we realize it or not. Obedience isn’t just about following all of the rules that are put before us. We do these things to maintain our connection with G-d. A healthy mind and a healthy life will lead to greater things. 

I think it's safe to say I would rather follow in God's path and be blessed than go astray and be cursed. What would you choose?

           CHOICES

        Welcome to Berman’s Blog! To begin the new semester and new school year, I would like to share words of advice that I guarantee will lead to a productive & fun semester.

1. Routine…Routine…Routine- Most doctors and health experts say that having a consistent routine will help you navigate your day and make the most out of it in a positive way. Set a schedule on google calendar, apple reminders. Heck, even write one on your arm! Whatever it takes to get your school work done(Ask a fellow SOM student for advice)

2. Attend Chabad events- Rivky's soup can’t be the only thing keeping you coming back to Chabad. Chabad has all the resources necessary to help you in your spiritual, personal, and academic life. Speaking of academics, JewishU is around the corner! Sign up ASAP. 

3. Get some exercise/workout- It’s crucial that you get some exercise during the day. It can be as simple as taking a walk, going for a bike ride, starting a running group with your friends. Working out in the Jewish holiday schedule! All of these are great outlets to improve your mental and physical health.

4. Set some “me” time- While your academic and social life can be overwhelming and time consuming, it's important to take time for yourself to have some quiet time because we all know, the burnout is real!

5. Make a fire music playlist- Whether you are studying in your room, working out in the Chagym, taking a shower, cleaning your room for shabbat, or hosting a karaoke party, HAVE A PLAYLIST READY. Your friends and your soul will thank you! 

That will do it for the first blog of the semester.  May all of you make the right choices this semester to only grow both academically, spiritually, and physically.
