Why did you choose Binghamton University?
Of all the schools I was considering, Binghamton has one of the strongest Jewish communities that I know of. Plus, the academics are great. For me it was a no brainer.
What do you love about Jewish life on campus?
I love Jewish life on campus because of the communal/social aspect. I’ve made so many of my closest friends here because of it.
Do you have any siblings?
I have two siblings, a twin brother—currently serving in the IDF!—and a younger sister.
What is your favorite book? Why?
My favorite book is The Righteous Mind, by Jonathan Haidt. It’s all about how religion and politics intersect with human morality, a topic that I find super interesting.
Do you have a hobby? Why do you love it?
One of my favorite hobbies is cooking and baking—I love the whole process, especially getting to share the results with friends and family. Just made Oreo cheesecake for the first time, hit me up if you want a piece.
What is your favorite Jewish food?
I’m a big fan of a pita with shawarma, although gotta be careful with the hummus (very allergic to sesame).
What's your favorite Jewish holiday and why?
Chanukah is for sure my favorite Jewish holiday. There’s something magical about the candle light of the menorah. I will say that Shavuot is a close runner up though, mostly because of my love for cheesecake.
What's your dream job?
Ever since a young age, I’ve always been passionate about accounting. #HusbandMaterial
What's a quote or saying that you like?
Here’s a quote I like from Bernard Baruch, one of FDR’s presidential advisors: “Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Although it was in response to a question about the seating arrangement at a dinner party, it happens to be a great general life lesson.
What is your favorite Chabad experience?
I’m a huge fan of welcome-back sushi at the beginning of every spring semester. Shout out to Rabbi O for taking a legendary selfie with me there, which somehow seems to recirculate in my friend group chat every other week.

Pharaoh’s advisers tried hard to explain away all the plagues.
Even when the Red Sea split, allowed the Jews free passage, and drowned their enemies, there were those who ascribed the entire event to natural causes.
Such is human nature, to reflexively seek out a natural explanation for every event.
But a Jew, quite the opposite, ponders a natural occurrence and sees a miracle.
Because a Jew has an innate inner conviction that there is nothing else but G‑d. There is no nature—it is all by His hand.
