Jewish Bearcat of the Week
Featuring Aaron Bazini

What is your major, and why did you decide to pursue this degree?
Right now I'm a first year engineering major looking to go into the biomedical engineering field. I'm good at math and science and I enjoy helping people so this sounded like a good fit for me.

Why did you choose Binghamton University?
Mainly for the large Jewish community (and Chabad house) at Binghamton University, plus it’s close to home.

Where are you from?  Where did you go to high school?
I grew up on Long Island in Wantagh, right near jones beach, and went to the Schechter School of Long Island.

What do you love about Jewish life on campus?
I love walking around and seeing active Jewish students wearing kippah and tzitzit out, it's just awesome.

What is your favorite book? Why?
The Torah (is this a trick question?)

Do you have a hobby?  Why do you love it?
I really enjoy playing guitar with friends, something about music really resonates with me.

What is your favorite Jewish food?
Can't go wrong with matzo ball soup and croutons

What is your favorite food?
Probably malawach, still trying to figure out how food can taste so good

What's your favorite Jewish holiday and why?
My favorite Jewish Holiday is probably Rosh Hashanah because it's a time when were all reminded by the shofar to wake up and work on ourselves for the year ahead.

What's your dream job?
The dream is working as a design engineer in the biotech industry, maybe even leading my own engineering firm.

What's a quote or saying that you like?
“If you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute to do” (C. Northcote Parkinson)

What is your favorite Chabad experience?
For sure Hakkafot in C4, cant find it anywhere else and probably an experience I'll never forget.

What's your favorite lockdown experience?
Biking along Jones beach and looking out on the beautiful view of the sunset

What makes you proud to be a Jew?
I'm proud to be a Jew because of our strong sense of community and the customs passed down from generation to generation.

Rabbi Tzvi Freeman

He made this universe with a plan:
That you will do the impossible.

But if it is the plan, then how could it be impossible?

For you it is impossible.
For Him, anything is possible.

But I am the one who must do it. How am I to do the impossible?

Because He is with you and within you.
And to find Him there, that is possible.
