Introducing Leah Lipshitz

What is your major, and why did you decide to pursue this degree?
PharmD, i chose this career because it gives me the opportunity to work in the healthcare field, be financially stable, and there's so many different avenues you can take with a doctorate in pharmacy.

Why did you choose Binghamton University?
I chose Binghamton because of its amazing pharmacy program along with the amazing jewish life.

Where are you from? Where did you go to high school?
I'm from new jersey, i went to Hillel yeshiva in Deal NJ for high school.

What do you love about Jewish life on campus?
I love how its become a home away from home with so many amazing opportunities to get involved, and still practice being Jewish.

Do you have any siblings?
I have 3 siblings.

What is your favorite book? Why?
My favorite book is “Tuesdays With Morry", it's such an amazing book and teaches you so much about others.

What is your favorite Jewish food?
Matza Ball Soup.

What is your favorite food?
Dumplings.

What's your favorite Jewish holiday and why?
My favorite Jewish holiday is Chanukah, cozy traditions like latkes, sufganiyot, and family dreidel games bring warmth, gratitude, and community to winter’s darkest days.

What's your dream job?
Something in the pharmacy field.

With a beautiful family, my favorite people living right next door and a job that I love.

What is your favorite Chabad experience?

What's your favorite lockdown experience?
One of my favorite memories was during an online Zoom class with my sister. It suddenly started pouring rain outside, and without even thinking twice we left our laptops behind and ran outside together and started dancing in the rain. it’s still one of my all-time favorite memories.

What makes you proud to be a Jew?
I love the community and the pride: no matter what happens or where you go, you’re still a Jew, nothing can change that. Even if you’re not religious, you still belong, and we stick together.

Rabbi Tzvi Freeman

On Rosh Hashanah, we call G‑d both king and father.

King, because He dictates what will be and what will not.

Father, because there is something of Him within each of us.

Indeed, as we choose, so He will dictate.

Choose life.
