Shabbat 1800 Friday April, 19 2019
April 5, 2019 set a new record with over 1800 BU students gathered at the event center for Shabbat 1800, the single largest Shabbat dinner on any campus and arguably in any single venue. The program initially conceived by Chabad of Binghamton in 1994 has been replicated on campuses around the country and in a few locations abroad. At Binghamton the program is executed by a large cadre of devoted and hard working students who work on recruitment, logistics, catering and transport to bring to fruition the dream of uniting as many as possible in a joyous show of Jewish community and pride. This year was the program's 25th anniversary and it absolutely exceeded all expectations!

The Binghamton community gathered in prayer, Torah study and the giving of Charity in the wake of the shooting at Chabad of Poway on the last day of Pesach. We mourn the passing of Lori Gilbert-Kaye, Leah bas Reuven, who was so cruelly torn from our midst, and pray that G-d provide strength and comfort to her family. We pray for the healing of all the injured: Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, Yisroel ben Chana Priva (a personal friend of ours); 8-year-old Noya bas Eden (Dahan) and her uncle, Almog ben Ruti (Peretz) and for the restoration of peace and mind for their entire community

Call it Graduation at Chabad. A night to enjoy wine, cheese and other treats, dress to the nines, take photos with friends and listen to warm, sincere words from Isabelle Sehati, representing the graduating class, Ariel Blum '10 representing Alumni and President Harvey Stenger representing the BU administration and more. Special awards were distributed , board members cited and each graduate received a gift and Chabad mementos. We hate to see you go! Photos by R. Coschignano
First there was the class picture, followed by Kabalat Shabbat, and then the meal with seniors and Chabad staff sharing heartfelt sentiments topped off with song and dance.
Remember; you never graduate from Chabad!
