Rides, attractions, battle of the bands, a hot dog and pie eating contest, a costume competition, Hamantashen galore made the annual purim carnival in the Event Center an epic event.
And over $3,000 was raised for important charities!

Throngs and throngs of BU students filled the Event Center for an Epic Shabbat Dinner that succeeded in turning the large, cold Event Center, into a warm, inviting, intimate, holy Shabbat Dinner. The Y-Stud rocked the house and the dancing was amazing as was the food!

On March 26, The Chabad Center and SDT sponsored the sixth annual Fashion for a Cure event. Over three hundred BU women turned out for an outstanding event that featured educational and inspirational talks by breast care surgeon, Dr. Kara Kort and breast cancer survivor Caryn Loffman, entertainment by the Pegs, a fabulous Fashion Show that featured clothing from the "decadent decades" fantastic raffle prizes and over the top desserts. For seniors there was a pre-event cocktail party.
And thousands of dollars were raised to support the important work of the NJ based Sharsheret organization.

Members of the JLI learners community gathered to celebrate 10 years of JLI courses in Binghamton. The date coincided with the world wide completion of the study of the Rambam's -Maimionides' magnus opus known as the Mishe Torah which is studied by thousands of Jews daily.
The evening included a dinner, a formal conclusion ( Siyum) of the Rambam's works which was immediately followed by beginning the yearly study again, and remarks by participants about their experience participating in JLI

The Chocolate Seder was more than just delicious; it was the perfect way to get into the mood of the holiday.The yummy treats were rivaled only by the mind expanding and inspiring words of Torah on the upcoming holiday that were shared. The old adage is true! everything is better with chocolate!

Mimouna in Binghamton!
For the first time ever Chabad held a post Pesach Mimouna celebration which included traditional ethnic treats and music.
Mimouna began among the Jewish community of Morroco where Jews who did not eat in each other's homes on Pesach invited extended family and friends to eat with them and receive their blessings for a healthy Spring and Summer

Joan Caras brings survivor's stories to life
On April 30, noted author and TV personality, Joan Caras spoke movingly about her cookbook project in which she collected hundreds of stories of holocaust survivors and some of their favorite recipes. Most in attendance bought at least one of her very unique cookbooks.
