Purim night at BU started with a Megillah reading with student involvement, replete with the loudest "groggering" found on this side of the Susquehanna.

The 19th annual Purim Carnival was a real hit! Close to 2,000 students rushed to the East Gym in anticipation of traditional & new attractions & the never ceasing Hamantashen...The Carnival-the largest student run event on campus each year-is spearheaded by Chabad together with Alpha Sigma Phi and Alpha Epsilon Phi & co-sponsored by a wide array of campus student groups, Greek groups & Residence Communities. Those wanting to be in the "action" took part in the ever-famous Pedestal Joust & other rides, while ravenous wannabee record setters challenged the hot dog eating contest. Thanks to all bands that showed off their talent & the organizations on campus. Photos by J. Munn & A. Kassimir

Chabad's annual Purim Seudah (Purim Feast) won't be forgotten to soon. The evening began with a Megillah reading, followed by a delicious Chinese dinner, spiced with L’chayims, music, entertainment by a juggler and all around good cheer. Dancing began as soon as attendees finished eating, and the energy in the room rivaled that of Simchat Torah. A Fabrengen lasted well into the night... Next year in Jerusalem!

Once in 28 years!
Beth David joined Chabad at our Center to celebrate Birkat Hachama, the once in 28 year ritual marking the return of the sun to the position it held during the six days of creation. Together, all of the assembled recited the blessing thanking God who “reenacts the work of creation.” We took time to think about the centrality of the sun in our lives and the miracle that is God’s creation!

Many happy students crammed the Chabad Cafe/Pizza Shop on Thursday night after Passover ended for a midnight Post Pesach Bagel Bust.
The bagels, shmears, waffles, eggs and company were delicious! Welcome Back Chametz! was the overriding sentiment.

Who knew life could get better at Chabad than the lavish dessert buffet on Friday nights after a full course dinner? But that’s exactly what happened on the Friday of April 24 when contestants vied for the title of Dessert Queen/King. There was apple pie, and checkerboard cake, and ice box cake oh my, and oreo-cookie cake plus chocolate cakes galore… but the Trifle took the cake and won first prize!
Congratulations to Marni Strauss, winner. We can’t wait for next year!

Every week - before Shabbat and Jewish festivals, Chabad students fan out to visit area seniors in local nursing homes and present them with flowers, a fresh challah in honor of Shabbat and most of all: put a smile on the faces of the seniors.
Devoted participants in the Raff Maasim Tovim program visit the elderly and the sick in local hospitals, on a weekly basis.
