Purim Celebrated at BU

You didn't have to be Jewish to enjoy the Purim Carnival Extravaganza at Binghamton University on Thursday.

There were hundreds of people—probably thousands before the event ended at the Events Center.  The annual event— going on for the past 20 years at BU— was a project of the Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life.

It featured every thing from costume contests, sports contests, and even kosher munchies.  The festival of Purim, which actually runs Saturday through Sunday, commemorates the salvation of Jews in ancient Persia, as they escaped destruction from a plot to annihilate them.
